OXFORD — Did you know that you can purchase great local produce, meats, milk, cheese, eggs, grains, maple syrup, honey, jams, crackers, breads, pies, and cookies twice a month, all winter long?
Over the past 10 years, the Oxford Farmers’ Market has worked to establish a connection between local food producers and local customers, cherishing the personal connections that are made through such exchanges.
But winters are long, and in an effort to expand access to locally-grown and produced food through the coldest months, they started up an Online Marketplace with a curbside pickup on the first and third Saturdays of the month, November through April, in addition to their monthly Indoor Market on the first Saturday of the month.
It’s easy to use. Just open an account by going to ofm.eatfromfarms.com and start shopping. The ordering window is open from noon on Tuesday through noon on Thursday before the first and third Market Saturdays. Orders placed during that time will be available for curbside pickup that Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the United Church of Oxford, 16 Fort Hill Park (pickup on Merchant Street).
The service is absolutely free, and customers pay in cash when they pick up. First-time customers this season will receive a $5 coupon redeemable toward their next Indoor or Online Market purchase.
